The club initially held meetings at a free facility thanks to the generosity of a member. When the building was to be demolished we had to find a new place to meet.

At various times for different lengths of time we moved around several venues such as the Friends Meeting House, Britons Protection Pub and The Town Hall Tavern before finding a long time home at the Rain Bar pub.

Orators meetings  were held at the Rain Bar for around 16 years, until it closed for refurbishment.

After that we had meetings for the next three years (with some online time due to Covid) at – The Novotel.

Unfortunately we were informed at the end of November that our meetings in December would have to be our last due to the hotel having a change of ownership and subsequent reorganisation.

We managed to find temporary accommodation at the Central Halls in Manchester but the early closing times of the venue were not ideal. We continued to seek another place to hold meetings.

At the end of January we discussed terms with the RA!NBAR which was our home before their refurbishment caused us to decamp to the Novotel. Happily they are able to book the dates for ALL our meetings of 2026 and so they are now our new meeting location.
